If I recall, Jeff Cooper liked wadcutter cartridges, but I can't remember where I read that or if he said anything...

Hello I need to buy a new spring for a Colt 38 Spl. wadcutter. What Pound spring is recommended? I am shooting 148 gr. wadcutter ammo. I will probably order a Wolf spring from Brownell's. Thank You, Ed

I have a chance to pickup just the top half of a colt gold cup 38 special wadcutter and wondering if this will work on my colt 38 super frame without modification. Of course i'll use the 5-round 38 special mags. Thanks, Ball

I'm coming very close to ordering the bullseye wadcutter with the bomar rib. But I have a few options question for those of you that own one of these jewels. Checkering of the front strap 20, 25, or 30 LPI? Mainspring housing same question? Are there any other options I should look at when I order. Any help you can give me will go a long way in eliminating any mistakes I might make.

I assemble and shoot a lot of Rainier 148 grain plated wadcutters, usually over 3.2 grains of W231. I have experimented with: Hollow base, solid base Seat flush, seat about .06" proud Crimp, just remove the flare Propellant back by the primer, propellant up by the bullet Frankly, I can't measure the difference. They all chronograph in the same range, similar ...

After loading a couple of thousand .38 target loads on my new Hornady LNL AP, I changed calibres so I can load .32 S&W Long wadcutter target loads. I now notice that after each powder measure activation that there is a a substantial amount of powder surrounding the case in the shellplate notch. I'm using the pistol powder measure rotor, the pistol powder bushing and Bullseye powder. I'...

Quote: Just keep the loads down. I think the recommended load was something like 2.7 grains of Bullseye with a 148 grain wadcutter. I agree. A favorite load for my 52 is 2.8 grs of Bullseye. The pistol functions fine and accuracy is great with this load. Actually, 2.7 and 2.9 worked well too. Anything much over three grains is way too much for...
