I'm currently looking to swap out my Lakland DJ4 PU's because I like to back off the front PU and don't like the hum it makes. I'm just curious what benefit if any does having them hum is there? Is it entirely a money issue or is the some other reason?

Gentlemen, may I offer a solution that (while skimming thru here) I didnt see mentioned before. At my church, we have a similar problem with our PA system. The static noise produced by the lights filters through the recorded audio due to a bad grounding system. Here's the idea, if the buzz is not tooooo bad, it can easily be removed using computer software. I've used programs like Adobe Audition ...

Any price up to 180 is good..I'm looking for a pair with good sound quality AND noise canceling for the subway. I know Bose is good but the noise cancelling head phones exceed 250..so not exactly in my price range. I am an audiophile as I'm coming from a pair of Shure in ear's. Anything in mind?

Thanks bdjohns1 , for your very helpful reply. I think I was given some of those on a plane the other day. I'll look 'em up and try them for a while. I love good sound and as I travel all the time these days 90% of my listening would be on these headphones so the cost is not the main concern. Quote: Originally Posted by bdjohns1...
