I'm using openser to interface sip messaging with a database (sort of a text messaging system using MESSAGE messages). I've been testing the setup using sipp with all software running locally on my linux box, which works fine. Now I've set up a second openser box at a remote location. When attempting to send a MESSAGE to the server I receive "483 Too Many Hops" My outbound ...

w-j : Hi guys, I'm just starting out with OpenSips (OpenSer) and wanted to join in the forum. Already found some useful tips here, thanks Just wanted to say that I have setup RTPProxy with OpenSIPS 1.4 and so far the traffic is looking really good. Clients registering with local IP are still able to receive calls so RTPProxy with the nathelper module seems to ...

It now works! Can I suggest that Exetel modify their setup guide for this device ( http://www.exetel.com.au/files/v210setup.pdf )? I would be helpful for clarify that the setup guide also includes a mention of the requirement that port 5060 needs to be opened through to the V210P. The V210P may look like it is working fine without port 5060 being opened and it does (except for the busy tone). ...

Most of these SIP NAT traversal things they put in are designed for outbound only (sipproxd) or you can tie them back into a single machine. While this may work for Asterisk (because it stays in the media path), it does nada for a true SIP PBX. As cheap as some PC hardware is nowadays, I don't know why people futz with those little specialty boards. Go get a Shuttle ( www.shuttle....

Twinkle and Ekiga both have problems with NAT traversal for symmetric NAT routers. Twinkle is Linux-only and doesn't have video, and Ekiga doesn't have encryption (although no one knows how good Skype's proprietary encryption is, and they probably have a backdoor anyway). If these issues got fixed, Skype would indeed be in trouble. Don't get me wrong, I use Twinkle myself, but these ...

I have been reading this http://exewiki.exetel.com.au/index.php? ... ksys_PAP2T exewiki article and notice the PAP2T setup is very similar to my router. The first instructions advise to remove the DHCP and enable a static IP. I have not done this as my router is slightly different. Here are some pics that show some of my settings voip1.jpg (56.95 KiB) Viewed 41 times...
