I'm considering monopod, since tripod is too clumsy in some situations. I read great review of manfrotto 685b at luminous landscape and I think this is it. But there comes a question of ball head. I don't have heavy lenses at the moment, so I think of small ball head like manfrotto 484 mini (4kg). Will it work okay with d300 and lenses like simga 50-150/2.8; 150-500 and nikkors 70-300vr and 300/...

I recently picked up the Manfrotto monopod afore mentioned, and am happy with it....I was drooling over the 681b at the store and the camera specialist guy Emanouil (Samys Camera and fellow HV20 owner) said I should try the 676b first.....the 681 is a beefy beast, and all day shooting could be a bit much, as I like to walk and shoot. The 676 is very light, a bit longer than I would like (...

Hello. I'm shopping around for a lightweight tripod/monopod for an upcoming asia trip. I am very new to video work and have been learning the hard way that my pans suck. I'm looking to correct this before my trip by buying either a tri or mono 'pod. I'm not looking to spend a fortune. I'm thinking of either getting the Velbon 607 or the Manfrotto 560B. I like the manfrotto because it is so ...

I am down to the wire and almost out the door so I am hoping to get some good info here on these two questions: First an easy one then a hard one... I just picked up my shipment today of the velbon UP-4DX 11 ( roman numeral 2) monopod with quick release tilt head. A great suggestion from this board. There is no info with it and am wondering if there is a way to unhook the nylon carrying ...

I am looking to get a monopod. I race BMX and my wife films my races. She's not the most steady person in the world so I was thinking a simple monopod would solve the problem? Does anyone have any suggestions about monopods or have much experience with them? I've found that the price ranges anywhere from $14 up to $200. Basically i'm just looking for something to make filming family sporting ...

Does anyone has some experience with monopod? Can you describe the differences between using monopod and the tripod? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Thanks.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a good monopod for my HV20. I have a Manfrotto tripod which I really like, so have been looking into Manfrotto monopods, but I have no clue which one to order. Does anyone have any suggestions, and tips or tricks ? , maybe a model I should steer clear of ? etc. I see Manfrotto has a model they call "automatic" which allows the person to open ...

I am attracted to this monopod, to be used with my HV30. I am looking for something light for portability in carrying and taking on aircraft, etc. Does anyone have any experience of how stable it is vertically and how successful it is for making smooth pans, particularly when extended. If it is not, I might as well stick with my "el cheapo" very light tripod, which just about ...

Hello - I'm looking for a monopod solution that offers a good compromise between portability and durability. Specifically, I do a lot of hiking/biking and I'd like a little help for holding the camera steady - It turns out that my ex's were correct, I'm a really unstable person. So, I need something that is going to be sturdy, yet portable. It needs to be sturdy enough to handle dirt,...

I read about this tip on another forum. Use a monopod upside down with the camera at ground level (will be upside down), then flip the video in post. Makes for a cool perspective. http://www.everythinginhd.com/videos/path.wmv (right click-save as)

Hi! I was really looking forward to buying a Manfrotto 560B monopod, but my local store doesn't have it. The option they give me is the 559B http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/...07|117&idx= 120 What do you think about this monopod? Is this any good? It's almost half the price of the 560B, so almost with the same money i could buy a tripod and a kata bag, which is tempting.
