My ass is getting too wide on the top. It's making my hips look wider. I know this can't be completely avoided. I don't want to stop doing squats, deadlifts, or leg press. What can I do to put less emphasis on my glutes? I go low on squats, feet barely wider than shoulder width. On leg press my feet are not wider than my shoulders and are in the middle of the press (not high or low). ...

I see a lot of people switching from regular squats to the machine hack squats for some reason. My gym doesn't have a hack squat machine so I can't test it out but from videos I watch, I don't see any difference in the movement. Edit:...reason I ask is because I have a hard time doing squats because of my lower back. A year and a half ago, I injured my back badly from improper form with ...

If you are using a smith machine I would stop using it asap. I used one up until a year ago and stopped after knee pains. Didn't know why I was getting them and then I read about how the smith can screw up your knees and lower back. I use a power rack now and at the moment my knees are getting better but even after a year they still have some carry over pain from that damn smith machine.

Yes, one legged pedaling works great. Even better on your normal bike set up on a trainer. I'd work both legs at the same tension. Do one, then the other, then both together, repeat. 1-2 minutes for each subset.

Does any one find the leg press very good for badminton? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leg_press I do, I find in badminton, the stress on the legs is quite a lot like landing from a jump and lunging. Or landing from a scissor kick (around the head), many sources say, the impact forces on the ankle is 3-4 times the body weight.. Is it true, that not only weight training on the legs ...

Doing some resistance training lately having never really done it before. Things like vertical traction machine, leg curl, leg press, chest press. I didn't go for 2 weeks. I went in on Saturday and did a session. I'm still feeling the pain now nearly 3 days later. My arms physically hurt. Sorta feels like I need to stretch but stretching doesn't do anything. Is this normal? Does it... | |
