What does your school call the second year of IB History of the Americas? At my HS, we have History of the Americas junior year then the second part is called IB Topics, short for Topics in 20th Century World History or something like that, it's the highest social studies class offered (must have taken AP Gov sophomore year). Do other schools just have IB History 1 and 2 or IB HoA 1 ...

We actually don't have a two year IB History HL sequence, you have to take IBSL Contemporary World History as a junior first and then take IBHL History of the Americas next. This works because the only difference between SL and HL history is the regional option...

Spain was dominating commerce / colonizing in America until Armada was defeated. After its downfall, other European states, especially Netherland/Britian/France somewhat later, joined invading America and Afreeca Plus, defeating Armada became a turning point for Spain which was the mightest state in Europe. Because Spain started to fall, Nehterland and Switherland (which was ruled by ...

America the Illiterate By Chris Hedges November 16, 2008 "Truthdig" -- - We live in two Americas. One America, now the minority, functions in a print-based, literate world. It can cope with complexity and has the intellectual tools to separate illusion from truth. The other America, which constitutes the majority, exists in a non-reality-based belief system. This America, dependent on...

I recently read a news story about domestic automakers being included in the bail-out. What surprised me most was the feedback to the story. I am Canadian, and therefore, I consider U.S. car makers to be my national automaker (though technically they are not). Plants in Ontario are responsible for important components of vehicle production and many local shops are kept afloat by customers buying ...
