I'm continuing to bid for 3-4* May 12-19 in almost all areas, range $80-100. I even tried to break my stay to shorter periods and bid separately for them (I understand that the hotels may be different). Reading resularly this section, I've got an impression that $75-90 is a fair price for 4*. I realize that my stay is longer than usual, but I assume that decreasing the stars level and ...

Please fill out a bid assistance form located in the Hotel FAQ and someone can assist you. There's no way of knowing what a reasonable bid is without knowing the hotel rates directly from each hotel sight. p070.ezboard.com/fpriceli...ID=9.topic

Since you still have plenty of time I would definitely bid 4* first before dropping to 3* while simultaniously raising prices. You could be able to get a 4* in that price range before dropping to 3*. I would bid in this order, Kensington, Marble Arch, Westminster, Regent's Park, then Notting Hill according to the most desirable areas saving Mayfair for last as it usually has the highest ...

1. Thanks for explanation. 2. I forget sometimes to go to priceline from AB, but I'll try not to forget anymore, honestly 3. About free rebids... I have read the FAQ topic about free rebids, unfortunately long after I figured it out myself. I've been bidding for a hotel room in London for a few weeks already. I'm not ready to pay more than $100 (at that price, I can find some other ...

There are no free rebid zones for 3* and for 4* London hotels at this time. Just wanted to make sure you understood the process for future bidding because #9 was not answered correctly on the bid assistance form. Some travelers like to use the Mayfair zone as a rebid when trying to win other zones for less that $100 as wins for 4* have not come up for less than that in years but you never...

Thanks again. I have a backup, but I still believe I can get something better from priceline. After all, it worked excellent for me for the last 3-4 years (although in North America).

gena67, what exactly is your "other pretty good deal" aka backup for under $100?

Bidding for $100/night gives you ~$840 for 7 nights. If you are ready to give up some luxury, you can get a decent place at the same price at some mostly Europe-oriented sites (www.visithotels.com, www.hotelclub.com, www.wotif.com). After all, we only need a clean place to stay. We rarely use the services available in 4* hotels, why pay for what we don't use? But priceline is working great ...

You're right. Bidding $100 will actually cost you around $120 or GBP62 per night. I do know that this a lot of money, but London is hardly comparable to any other city I've been to (except maybe NYC)...pricewise. I was wondering whether you had a precise backup plan or were just expecting to get something decent anywhere below that price. I am saying this because even dirty holes usually ...
