what happens to fiberglass, resins, epoxy, after 10,15, 20 years?, does it have a shelf life, hows does heat and cold cycles effect them?, is a 20 year performance boat as safe as a 2 year old one?

Very interesting topic Marine Man I would think if a boat was taken care of it wouldn't make a difference. Yet we all know how much water and years can deteriorate wood and glass..

I think safe is relative to the original materials and layup method of the boat in question. A boat hand laid with quality resin, good cloth, that sat in the mold the correct amount of time, is going to be a better boat than one that's a chopper gun shot flyweight with cheap resin that was pulled out of the mold the day after the resin kicked.
