First of I just want to tell you, yes I am 15 and Im not planning on becoming an assassin/ hitman Okay, let's get started. What do you think is the biggest difference between an assassin and a hitman? Many of you have probably played the Hitman games. Do you think it's realistic on what the games go on about? Do you think there are organizations that specialiase in such contracts? ...

To me: Hitman Cheap, Probably a gangmember. Get's close to target to kill, then escapes. Hard Object, Pistol, SMG. Always Male. Assassin Expensive, Efficient, Professional. Hitmen are generally for contract killings, like say a wife found out her husband is cheating on her and she's absolutely furious or a mob boss realizes that one of his capoes is a snitch, that would be a situation where a hitman's purpose would be served. Well the difference between a hitman and a assassin is that a hitman kills normal people (wives,bosses,etc.) a assassin kills "important people" (cops,mayors,president) and the best sex for a hitman (or hitwomen) would be female for using beauty as a weapon to get her target same for assassin.

Synonymous. You may as well be asking what the difference between a woman and a lady is. Sure, either carries certain connotations, but dwelling on them will certainly land you in the "I'm lame" thread.

Okay everybody seems to agree that assassins are the more pro out of those two. Well lets just put an example: What about agent 47, from the hitman games, he is one of the most professional killers I have ever seen, generally, I mean not when I'm playing. Im thinking Hitmen get close to the target. Like, Hitmen wouldn't carry sniper rifles, they'd have pistols, knives, wires, that sort of thing to kill them. Whereas, Assassin's wouldn't get close and generally find and 'nest' high up and use rifles such as Remingtons.

Hitman and assassin are synonymous, they mean the same.
