Went on a 100 mile drive - just because. Gas at $2.09 a gallon, happy times are here again! Shoot, the gas I burned cost about as much as the $6.85 to take the ferry back from Whidbey Island.

I'm not a Keith Olbermann fan, but a friend sent me this and I'm reconsidering. I don't know if this has already been posted here because I can't keep up with the volume of posts here. Excellent, Olbermann. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27650743/ Andrea

.....it must be Stockbuyer2. My feet are SO swollen, they can't flex when I walk. They should hopefully be better by tomorrow. I told my husband I'm going to have to start wearing my houseshoes out in public like those older women you see, if I ever get to go anywhere again. I am so tired of staying home, I have cabin fever. I'm having a really bad flare up, the cramping dislocated four...

Here's something that could change my mind about government run health insurance in the United States. Tell us again how government run health care saves money. Dozens of Sydney [,Australia] brothels are passing off sex acts as therapeutic massages and illegally billing health insurers for the services, a newspaper and an official said Monday. Australia Brothels Billing Insurers for...

Outrage and anguish over the passage of Proposition 8 has spurred massive street protests throughout California, and leaders of the gay and lesbian community believe the backlash could spark an unprecedented nationwide push for gay rights. Today, same-sex marriage supporters have planned simultaneous protests throughout California and in all 50 states, as well as cities in Canada, ...

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Republican voters say Alaska Governor Sarah Palin helped John McCains bid for the presidency, even as news reports surface that some McCain staffers think she was a liability. Only 20% of GOP voters say Palin hurt the partys ...

It's been a maddening few weeks. The firm where my shareholder went to came to me offering a competitive offer the day after I accepted the offer from the other firm. Long story short, ultimately I accepted it and I started working there on the 12th (two days ago). Love the place, the people, the work, and the location is to DIE for -- so much more shopping and good eating places ...

My former wife gave me a 1970 MGB today - Go figure. She said that she got it started a year ago, but it hasn't hasn't been started/run since. I would appreciate some input on how to proceed. My employer thinks I should have the car towed to a decent shop and pay them to get it started. My thoughts or to try some things myself first to try to keep the costs down. I have done some pretty...

reading a thing about the problems of being a country with racial/cultural/ethnic/religious diversity .. it says that 'race' is so important in the American psyche that part of the justification for Southern Secession was that southerners were a different (higher, of course) race than the 'Yankee'.. the idea being that Northerners were descended from the Puritan Roundheads, who were ...

NYT columnist Kristof has just written a celebration of Obama's intellectualism: The second most remarkable thing about his election is that American voters have just picked a president who is an open, out-of-the-closet, practicing intellectual. [...] Perhaps John Kennedy was the last president who was unapologetic about his intellect and about luring the best minds to his cabinet. ...
