Lately, a rather loud tapping noise occurs when driving out of the neighborhood. It appears to be related to vehicle speed more so than RPM. Its a tapping noise more than a rattle and it's louder and much lower frequency than the ticking noise given off by the injectors or valves after a long respite. Im thinking it could be related to the front brake pads because it usually goes away ...

Not affiliated, blah blah blah. Came across this in a thread in the Pelican forums: http://www.maxjaxusa.com/ http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=44 0986 http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=24 033 As great as my mid-rise lift is, having nothing under the car while working is a big plus. Only reason I got the mid-rise was because there ...

Contacted V1, they apparently track what's in use state by state. NC does not have POP hardware. They think it was instant on laser, but even that did not light up my V1 for a split second.

I have a 1998 Cabriolet with 48,000 miles, totally babied (ask Chris Walrod). Yesterday, I attempted to lower my top and it stopped mid-way; it appeared that the left side stopped lowering. After 2 tries back and forth, with minimal movement, I was unable to either lower or raise my top -- it was stuck in the midway position. I drove the car to Pioneer Porsche in San Diego, about 10 ...

UPDATE: 11-2-08 Some of you may recognize this 964, as I have advertised its availability on here a couple of times over the past 3 years or so. Thanks to the terrible economy, the car did not sell during its last eBay auction so I am relisting it with a lower reserve. The new auction is scheduled to end on Friday November 7, 2008 at 9:00pm EST. For those interested in a buy-it-now ...

Sorry to boast, but I just got the best deal on a 996 3-spoke steering wheel, and I have some questions. To start off, I attended the PCA Northest Region annual auction at the local car museum. A fellow PCA'er was selling his steering wheel out of his 996 GT3. Nobody wanted it except for me, and I won it for 90 bucks! That included the airbag and cancelling ring. So here are a couple of dumb...

Hi all, I'm trying to decide which tires to put on my GT3 to replace the Pirelli PZero Corsa semi-slicks I've been running at the track. I've been very happy with the Pirellis, but I want to try something different / more aggresive. I've done a little searching on the forum, but it looks like opinions are evenly split between the Hoosiers and the Toyos. Does anyone have any specific ...

Six months and 5000 miles after the first start of the motor, its time for an update. From the first time this motor went WOT, we knew it was strong. We werent sure exactly how strong, but if you can get Bill Ball to cry uncle during an acceleration run, chances are good you have a beast on your hands. Now weve been able quantify just how strong this thing is. Recapping the specs, ...

In my region, last season we saw a drop off in registrations. I think it was pretty much the same through all of zone 1. Fuel costs were cited as the most likely reason. US drivers coming to Canada for DE dropped off as wwell, fuel costs and a Canadian dollar at par with the US were equivalent to a 30 percent price increase for the event, hotels, meals and fuel. I hope things will settle ...
