Curious if there was an author which led a particularly odd or interesting life. Feel free to post biographies as well which you recommend. For me, I've always been interested in Yukio Mishima's life- The industry of his body of work, as well as his lifestyle of imperial Japan, though correct me if I'm wrong, ending in his committing seppuku after a failed overthrow of a military station...

Thank you Logos, for keeping this going; this thread means a lot to me. Well, I just wanted to check in today and say hi to everyone. I really have been missing the forum (major forum withdrawal brings on weird symptoms) and not only missing this forum, but have been in Lawrence short story withdrawal; although, when I was without a computer for all those several weeks, I actually ...

Inspired by Prince Myshkin's brilliant eight-word poem.... Birds in adjacent cages pondering each other's dreams ....shall we see what else we can come up with? I'll start.... two broken cuckoo clocks measuring out irregular time Who's next? (I've been away for awhile.... I hope this hasn't already been done.)

Pardon me---everyone---for my absence. I don't usually just disappear like that, only to come back every blue moon as a silent observer. As you can probably guess, things have come up. I am a senior this year, first of all. You know what that means? College application time. I never knew filling out these applications would be so tedious; and also, I never dreaded writing an essay so much...

No, this isn't a perverted obscene phone call asking if you are in your underwear....in the vein of such threads as "what are you thinking now?" and "what are you eating/drinking?" just describe what you're wearing...without getting too detailed, of course. (we don't need to know about underwear... ) I just thought it would be interesting and also if you could describe any cultural references ...

I am curious as to what "living the literary life" means to members who might care, or do care, about living it themselves. I have some thoughts on this I will return to later, but I am curious as to what the regulars, or even the not so regulars, think about this aspect towards creativity and end product. Anyone?

The reasons they cannot use Wikipedia is that "the teacher does not allow it". I know we have many teachers here, and I know we have many students.
