Oh come on, someone had to say it! Get a load of this. When I worked in Seoul, I just used my first name - so students, colleagues called me by my first name. My thinking here was that my surname might be too difficult as it contains an L and an R. Bad idea, for several reasons too irritating to explore in any depth. So, this time around it's Mr _____ And what happens? I get called just...

Post-election Sarah Palin she's going to be in deep shit. http://mudflats.wordpress.com/2008/1...of-the-clos et/ Quote: If people knew how frugal we are, said Sarah Palin. She told Fox News that her favorite store is an Anchorage consignment shop called Out of the Closet. That was how she defended herself from the accusations of an over-the-top shopping spree at ...

Is there any point buying the stuff in Korea? I have tried three different types thus far ranging from the cheap to stuff with pepperoni in it and all tastes exactly like ..... nothing. Is this common worldwide? I never really used to eat it at home, but now I am trying to bake with it, but it really seems to be a complete waste of space on the plate.

There are times I am truly mystified by the small-mindedness of many of my fellow Americans. The depth of the idiocy and ingorance seems to know no bounds. This is such a sad thing to see still happening in our country. I have hope that perhaps there will be a society-wide debate and change that can truly usher in a new era of humanity in our society. I have hope even as news like this ...

I pooped twice today! Went to the gym and and looked at lady jogger boobies. OH! I just cracked my back. It felt good.

I got this email: Your MySpace URL is about to be taken away, so you may lose it forever. This is the unique URL you chose for yourself (such as www.MySpace.com/Tom ) Its been some time since youve logged in and used your MySpace URL. You're holding a very valuable piece of MySpace real estate, which is the URL you chose. Since it doesn't look like you're an active user on this account,...

Here's a neat little article I came across from a 1965 Korea Journal that gives one university professor's impression of teaching Englis here. A few excerpts: Quote: What is less easy to sympathize with [than economic considerations] is the acceptance of an appreciable number of students of the pressure and their using it to avoid 'unnecessary' work. The willingness of the faculty to...

Being blask-listed by a public-school? Can a public-school blacklist a teacher so that immigration will turn down any future visa application, even for a hagwon job? I worked in a Busan middle-school that sucked donkey balls, and my time there ended with me being sacked two weeks before I was to finish. I threatened legal action, and they backed down, and gave me my airfare and ...

Oh you just reminded me of my #1 pet peeve of Korea. Strangers everywhere not only giving unsolicited parenting advice, but also forcing it upon you! For me it was complaints that Anna would never walk if I carried her in the sling (she had her first steps at 10 months, thank you very much). Some people would try to take her out of it, or forcefully straighten the sling which was awful for ...

Someone used this as a sigline for a while ... "A glass should never be empty. A glass should never be full. Fill the glass that is empty, and empty the glass that is full."

Hey Guys Anyone who likes living well would want to carry his wife's bag. Want to get her in the zone? Offer to hang out with her, not always going out with your friends, get drunk - in other words, you gots to be payin attention...and another thing - this doesn't mean of course that you can't chase your dreams. By all means let her know that your dreams are important to ...
