Great article in the LA Times today to give Sony's side of the story: Sony's Amy Pascal speaks out about 'Moneyball' 06:07 PM PT, Jun 30 2009 It's never an easy decision when a studio head has to pull the plug on a big movie, as Amy Pascal did last week when she shut down "Moneyball," a $58-million Steven Soderbergh film that was set to star Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, the...

Here's at least one of the possible comedy hits of the summer. Jay Roach's next film, Dinner for Schmucks, starring Steve Carrel and Paul Rudd has been scheduled for July 23rd 2010, acting as counter-programming to Salt. I expect some good numbers for this, even Get Smart level. _________________ Santikos Embassy 14 (4/22 - 4/30 2009) New - Earth, Fighting, The Soloist, ...

My personal rating system comes from an ocd-fueled need to have every movie I've watched listed in approximate order of enjoyment. Having such a list I decided that it would make sense to use it as the basis of my ratings, and so, the top about 5.6% get a ten, the next 11.1% get a 9, the next 11.1% get an 8, and so on down to the bottom 5.6%, which get a 1. 10's and 1's being given out less often...

I loved the first, liked the 2nd, and think the third is unnecessary. Plus having a lot of baby jokes will likely bring the humor down and make it more juvenile. I also heard Jay Roach won't be back, so I'll probably pass on this one unless the reviews are stellar.

Easily the hardest thing i've ever had to do, and yes, I include my dissertation in that statement. Anyways, heres the next bunch in the countdown. 89: Mildred Pierce (Michael Curtiz, 1945) I saw this film at a film studies screening about four ...
