I can definitely understand why some don't find Anderson appealing, but some of these criticisms I don't understand. What indie bands does he use in his soundtracks? The music is almost exclusively from decades ago, not exactly Pitchfork fodder. It's an impressive list, but I would go with Wuthering Heights. On a side note, it is sad that so many of today's movie fans have no idea who William Wyler was, or Billy Wilder, John Houston, etc., or of the great foreign directors such as Ingmar Bergman, Jean Renoir, and Akira Kurosawa.
