As far as promotion, it depends on the studio you work with. Some studios require a certain amount of appearances by its leads and youre paid for it in your salary. Edward Norton got in trouble with Universal when he failed to promote "The Incredible Hulk" a few years ago. And Monique shouldnt have to beg for her Oscar-it should go to who gave the best performance. But Hollywood is full of bias ...
